tracyg....... You've hit the nail on the head ........XP is currently on D drive so it when you click save , it wants to save on drive D: ...........so yes just copy the contents of D: drive onto C: drive ...... ( make sure you leave the info on D: drive , so you will still have the restore feature )

Yes , thats exactly what they do .........There is usually the o/s and whatever software bundle was pre loaded .

Personally , I like to have a REAL O/S cd ......but I suppose it costs less for the manufacturers in license fees.

So chances are that Tracy doesn't have a disk?
          That's scary.  :o

No chances about it. I definately don't have a disk. I hate that! There was actually a class action lawsuit done about it, so when it's said and done I'm suppose to receive a disk.

But... back to the problem. After I move everything over,  will that start saving stuff on the c:?  I guess what I'm asking is, is there something I need to do to designate c: as my default drive?

Thanks so much for everyone's help!

Ok. Got the contents of D: copied over.   Am I to assume that everything is ok?

Does it make any difference that D is FAT32 and C is NTFS.

Still didn't fix it. I just tried copying & pasting something into Works and received the message about memory.

Says it can't be completed because there's not enough memory on my computer.

          ???

Are you sure you are running out of hard drive memory?
Notice it worked in safe mode?
There are 3 main types of memory on your computer.

Hard drive, which you need to check each drive and see how much space is left?

RAM, 512Mbs which is fine unless you have everything including the kitchen sink running?

Virtual, (pretend ram on your HD) which you should also check to see what it's set at?
