Galaxy Tab USA Ban

Galaxy Tab 10.1 Banned in U.S.
Today By EIN News

The Galaxy is a Android Tablet that looks too much like the Apple tablet.
So they say. [my paraphrase]

Yes, this is really a PR thing by a news service that has been following the story. But The Sacramento Bee, a local newspaper, has picked up the story that claims the Galaxy is now banned in the USA because of a patent dispute with Apple. If this is going to hold, it will be a victory for Apple. But expect  Samsung to fight back.

Yea. Apple is actually arguing that they own the sole right on swiping technology that is anything but a straight line swipe.  ::)

It's not just Samsung. They do it to everyone. HTC One X And Evo 4G Shipments Confiscated At US Customs <- Great source of Android news. The AndroidPIT App usually gets used daily by me. The guy who writes the news isn't afraid to go all out in criticizing Apple fanboys and Apples shenanigans.

Patent lawsuits is something Apple has been IMHO using as a tactic to discourage Android users. But again IMHO all it's doing is re-enforcing the Android base and Apple is just showing their *censored* by keeping the litigation going as long as possible in order for Android uses to wait for their new devices. one judge is getting tired of it too. Judge Orders Apple And Samsung To Settle On Patent Dispute

I can't remember which device it is but there was another article stating some devices had begun clearing customs and making it to distributors.

Even Apple fans (fans, not fan boys) are put off by this.

Quote from: Beta News
Apple fell behind Samsung, responding surprisingly. The Apple that once out-innovated competitors chooses to litigate when out-imitated. Rather than compete with Samsung and Android 4.x, Apple sues over patents -- many for arguably vague software processes. Koh's ruling is shameful. Apple demanding the preliminary injunction is shameful. The pride of 2005, when Apple outflanked copycats through innovation, is the shame of 2012.

Today, court briefs are the true measure and extent of Apple innovation. Apple can copy -- innovation by imitation -- but no one else. Apple engineers, you should feel ashamed at what suits -- the people wearing them and cases they file -- your company has become.

Its matter of sorrow that Samsung lost the market in US. its more effective for the Samsung users. I hope samsung will get his market as soon as possible.

Even without the recent lawsuits, I don't have high hopes for Samsung.  They don't listen to what their customers want and they're typically a step or two behind when it comes to updating software.  With all of the great things Nokia has been doing lately, I think they could take over a lot of Samsung's market share in the near future because they are definitely winning over a lot of people...even a lot of the iPhone users who are sick of a lack of innovation.  Heck, if I could, I would gladly trade in my Samsung Focus for the Lumia 920 whenever it comes out.

It will be interesting to see how the Lumia 960 (not to be confused with 920) and Samsung ATIV fare against each other.  Personally, I'm excited that both companies are supporting Windows RT, but I definitely think Nokia is the one to go with at this point, especially when it comes to exclusive apps/features and customer support.
