Outlook: Sorting Contacts list by language?
« on: September 27, 2005, 05:44:23 PM »
Hi everybody,

At my suggestion, my office manager is now using Outlook XP to manage his schedule (much better than the Post-It notes that used to cover his entire wall!).

He'd also like to use Outlook's email feature instead of Outlook Express. There's one small glitch, though:

He speaks Chinese, so his Contacts list (address book) has some entries in Chinese characters as well as those in English. Outlook Express alphabetized his Contacts list so the English entries appeared first, then all the Chinese entries:

[A-Z]  <--English entries
[xxx]  <--Chinese entries

But for some reason, Outlook mixes them up:

[several English entries]
[a Chinese entry]
[several English entries]
[a Chinese entry]  ... etc.

Does anyone know why Outlook does this, and if it can be changed? (I'm reasonably computer-literate, but I haven't been able to find an option like that.)

If you don't know, do you have any idea where else I could ask this question? Thanks!
