    Invisible server
    « on: September 27, 2012, 05:27:30 AM »
I didn't have any issues with the server after I figured out what I was doing wrong.  For some reason the clients can't see it an vice versa. My laptop should be able too see them wireless an it's not. I restarted the server clients an router. The clients on the domain can see each other though. Can't ping the server. Changed the rj45 to the server  unplugged the cable to the router an rep lugged it. The server has to run to a hub which runs to the router where the clients are. The wireless just backs off the router to send the signal through the house. Server 2008 data center compaq ego w4000

The last thing I want to do is reinstall though there isn't a lot on it

Check that IP/subnet mask is correct and compatible on server and workstations.

Sorry, Im thinking of just doing a reinstall since it would be the fastest thing to do.
