getting new computer, need help ensuring video card will work
    « on: November 17, 2012, 06:21:35 PM »
I'm buying a new computer because my old one is slowly dieing.  I've already picked out a good computer and a good video card.  I've already checked out and done a fair amount of research into the computer, what people reccomend as far as hardware, and what brands to check for.

What my problem is, however, is powering the video card.  The certain card I picked out has an additional 6-pin power cable that needs(maybe?) to be plugged in.  I'm wondering if I can actually do such a thing in the computer I chose and if it is possible to do so, how to go about doing it.

All replys are appreciated and will be useful.  Thank you.

Since it's not listed in the Specs i would contact newegg and ask what PSU that PC ships with and does it have a 6-pin GPU plug...
