Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings

    Hello there!
I've decided to install AOEII again on my new laptop that's running windows 7. Everything works alright, the menu looks good and all but when I actually get into the game, some of the colors look bizarre.
The weird thing is that when I take a screenshot, the screenshot saves the colors it should be but actually it's different in game.

The picture on the left shows how an actualy screenshot looks like but the one on the right side is how I see colors:

    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance!

This is an issue with the "GENIE" Engine that AOE2 uses as well as AOE1. The games use 256 Colour palettes, but are unable to fully realize all the colours in the palette because Windows Explorer refuses to let it change some of the colours in the palette.

You can fix the colour issue if you terminate Explorer.exe before you run Age of Empires 1 or 2.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.
