pictures still blank

Hopester thanks for the article,but all the right boxes are checked to show pictures. Don't know about any software. Why would XP need additional software?  Like I said,I did not have this problem with 98. Any other suggestions?

    Something a little simpler. Try this:

    Open up Internet Explorer.

    Click on Tools.
    Click on Internet Options.
    Click on the Advanced tab.
    Click Restore Defaults.

    If this doesn't work, then we know for sure that the problem lies elsewhere, and we can troubleshoot from there.

    I restored the defaults. No different. I should tell you,this only happens on a few sites. JoAnns and Kohls,Sierra Trading Post,to name a few.Only get one or two pictures. On other craft sites,that have alot of small pics, the pictures load ok.
    What can I try next?

      notsosavvy....   You are making referance to Win 98 .....Arent you using Win XP .......
      Could you please provide an actual link to a page that doesn't load properly for you . If it's only the odd page , the issue could be with the page as opposed to your pc .
      Check and see if you have Sun java installed on your machine ........Internet Explorer /Tools/internet options....advanced tab ........scroll down and see if Java (Sun) is ticked .

      Yes I have XP.  This trouble started after I switched to XP.  A site I shop on a lot is joann.com.  I emailed the site several times when I first started having this happen.webmaster  did some checking and emailed back that it was not their problem.  I do not see sun java anywhere.  Should it be there??

      I believe JAVA support is not enabled in Windows XP.  You may have to install the support.

        Microsoft & Sun had a falling out, Java never shipped with xp.
        Of course W2k had it.  ;D

          Well, the courts have certainly been reluctant to do anything. What they got was too little, too late.

          microsoft Java or no java is their plan.

          check firewall setttings/and popup blockers options.....try f5 refresh key/or ie box on top taskbar.....

          You mentioned that you may need JAVA support to use the website, didn't you?

          Were you receiving some error that you need to enable JAVA support to use the site?

          dl65 asked me for a link to a site where no pictures were showing up. sun java was mentioned there.  Where is dl65?  Did you try the joann site?
