    excessive buffering
    « on: December 16, 2012, 07:55:16 AM »
Is some buffering common to even a new computer?  When I watch any youtube video or other video I have to put up with a lot of buffering.  I use Realplayer to record and watch later but it would be nice to just watch the video.  I'm using a HP Presario with a lot of ram and a dual core processor and Vista.

If videos from the web are buffered a lot, it suggests a slow or badly performing internet connection.

    That's not entirely true.

To do this simply go into your browsers settings and choose 'clear cache' then use something like Ccleaner to clear your cookies.

I have 80+mbp/s and I often have issues with buffering videos at 720p+ on YouTube. I could simply be server load that causes the issue but I have found that clearing my cache periodically and also clearing my cookies can sometimes alleviate the problem.
