Windows 8 Upgrade issue. NO connection?
« on: February 04, 2013, 07:18:28 PM »
Hello computer hope,

A few weeks ago Microsoft gifted me with a free copy of a windows 8 upgrade. All it is, is simply the serial key and a URL site to download the upgrade. So after considering it for about a month or so i decided what the heck. i have a few PCs with win 7 one dualbooting 7 and XP, lets try windows 8. So i took my Toshiba satellite L645D-020 (model PSK0QC-020007) wiped it, reinstalled windows 7 using the back-up DVDs i made. So it currently has a working clean copy of Windows 7 home premium with all the latest drivers and TOshiba utilities. I disabled some of those utilities during start-up to speed it up and so on.
Anyways. here is my issue. I have downloaded this windows 8 nrf (not for resale) upgrade and its a .exe on my desktop. SO i opened it up and entered in my serial code. It accepted the code saying its correct, then goes onto the next screen saying the following:

"just a little bit longer...
we are going online and preparing a few things for you..."

Then it says
"WE can't connect right now..
Check your internet connection again"

Its funny cause im using the SAME COMPUTER WITH INTERNET to write this..
I tried both wireless and ethernet.
i disabled all my 30 day trial internet.. then Uninstalled it..

any other ideas? thanks for everyones help in advance.
