dvd burner/player not working and freezing after i.stalling win 7

hi. i recently installed.win 7 on my desktop and now my dvd burner doesnt burn or play movo
ies and it use to be fine. it either freezes or just doesnt work and now i cant see it under device manager. please help. also whenever i play movies online or download and.play them its really slow and skips alot. please help

In the case of win 7 often the chipset drivers required are part of the operating system cd. However not always. It appears that this may be what is causing your issue. Did you run a compatibility check before installing the win 7 o/s from whatever o/s you had on there before? You may also need to install updated audio/video drivers. However you must always start with the chipset drivers. These drivers are on the motherboard cd that came with the computer or can be obtained either from the manufacturer of your computer or the motherboard manufacturer.truenorth
