    Hi everyone, I've had this problem for a while hopefully someone can help.I have a red x in Network connection,everything works fine .I have'nt installed anything new,just happened out of the blue. Is there any solutions? I'm not very comp savy.

    Funny you asked that. Same thing happened to me and I have had years of experience and have never seen this s before.
    If you are re a beginner, why are you running XP?
    Is it a wireless connection?
    Is the red X only on the lower right task bar?
    Look at this:

    It says my wireless is out, but it still works.

      I'm running windows 7,yes its on a wireless connection and also in the lower right taskbar.strange everything works though.just thought it may be a potential problem with an easy fix.

        hey! Did you try built in windows troubleshoot. The window that pops up after a failed connection should give you an option to auto trouble shoot. You can take the steps that windows does mannually but it take a bit of command line syntax. Reply and i can walk you through it. Also resetting you router can help as the a clean config of router settings will normally result. these are just simple things and im not sure what you mean by everything is running fine. best luck
