no pending updates for Windows
followed most of the advise found on the internet

1.) email address embedded in message opens a new browser tab (Chrome) instead of a new email message

2.) embedded links in email won't always open but should and use to....
check settings and followed most of the advise I found on the internet.ook data using a backup/install program.

You have an email account set up in Outlook, right? 

One suggestion - open your Default Programs panel and confirm that Outlook is set as the default email program.
