I have a load of files encrypted on a piece of free encryption software on an old defunct computer.
The software was created I think, by American University Students and displayed as a yellow padlock.
You could set the level of encryption and also secure delete files.
Right Clicking the file also brought up the program as an option.
The password encrypted any file (or groups of files) leaving the file name(s) the same - but adding .cry to the name
i.e. picture.jpg.cry or letter.doc.cry
I cannot for the life of me remember the software name.
They stopped supporting it several years ago, so you could still decrypt but no longer encrypt.
In fact, if you changed the computer date you could still encrypt as well.
The developers asked for donations (by cheque) and after a period of time your free subscription expired and you needed to download it again.
It was very popular in its time and I seem to remember it had several reviews.
Anyone help at all?!
