    Motherboard BIOS Update
    « on: March 27, 2013, 01:40:28 AM »
Hello! I'm new here at Computer Hope. This is a great website.

Where can I get a copy of the newest BIOS update for my motherboard?

    Model: Asus P5GD1-VM Motherboard
    Version: 0602
    Chipset: I915
    Date: 09/06/2005-16:48:11
    Onboard Sound: Azalia (swa)
    Onboard LAN: Exist (wl)
    BIOS Size: 512 K
    BIOS Type: AMI

I downloaded all BIOS .ROM files in the official website of Asus. But it weren't compatible with the BIOS to be flashed.

Please help me! Thank you very much in advanced!

Why are you flashing the BIOS ? ?
If an improper flash is done you can render the PC un-bootable...chances are if the one you tried didn't take then there isn't one needed or available.

    Hi

I checked the Asus website and there shows no bios of that version for that board. So I'm thinking it is a Asus OEM board made for HP or someone. If that is the case then you should only use the bios supplied by the company that made the machine. using a generic Asus bios could cause windows to not start and other problems. So as patio said if you haven't a really good reason to update then don't.

If it is an HP then you need to get the bios from HP not Asus.
