I formatted my had drive, reloaded Windows 95, found out how to load XP in dos mode, but I get not enough memory or Ram space.  I have plenty of space.  What can I do?

You're replacing Win95 with WinXP?  What kind of computer is this?

Can you boot from the CD if you're just wanting to load XP?
