My problem essentially is this, when I go to certain pages such as facebook and espn instead of the page's usual layout with pictures and what naught I get a vertical column of text of material the site should be displaying much like in the dial-up days when you stopped a page before it was fully downloaded.
My problem isn't a connection issue though as several other sites (such as computerhope) work perfectly fine and I was actually able to log in to my University computer through a remote lab system and double check that the problems are not on the server side but for some reason on my laptop.
To remedy the situation I've tried clearing my cache/internet history, deleting unnecessary files, trying different browsers (Chrome, IE10 and FireFox) and re-installing plugins and browsers and creating a new user account on my laptop in the event that mine had somehow become corrupted. None of these helped however.
If anyone has any suggestions how to fix this or how this problem occurred I'd be greatly appreciative. My computer was working perfectly fine before lunch but suddenly began having problems I haven't been able to fix.
Also it appears that my roommates computer began having similar issues as mine about the same time so I also tried to bypass our router altogether and plug my computer directly into the modem. There was no change, could our ISP be causing the problem?
