No, not I.
A thermal adhesive is much different from thermal paste.
Some say the adhesive is less effective.
Of curse, you already know that.

I use toothpaste.

He probably means it's slightly less effective at transferring heat than thermal paste, which is true.  For your application, it makes no real difference though.

No, i read it on another forum, but to me, it doesn't quite make sense as there are 4 hold down hooks in the motherboard. My heatsink uses 2 and there are 2 free. Looks like a different heatsink design may be used. Would the PC know what was used automatically?? I've never seen anything in BIOS to change which heatsink type is used........thought you guys might know.

I was just curious as i have never read that or come across it before...so i don't know if it's balderdash or not.

As to your issue See Here...

Their thermal pastes are considered some of the best so i would think their adhesives are probably just as good...

    Ended up buying this -

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thermal-Conductive-Heatsink-Glue-Adhesive-Compound-For-PC-GPU-5grams-tube-/121052275338?pt=UK_Computing_Thermal_Compounds_Supplies&hash=item1c2f47228a

Took over 24 hrs to dry, not the 2 - 8 mins it states on the packaging, but it was stuck really firm and there's been no issues yet
