Windows Outlook 2000 is malfunctioning

Hello!

I use Outlook 2000 for my email.  For no reason the links on my incoming email no longer work.

I went to the Detect and Repair tab under help, but every time I run it it asks for the disk, loads some information and then stops midstream and times out.

Any idea how I can fix this?

Assuming you have HTML enabled and not disabled in Outlook 2000 with links still not working, I'd export your e-mail to a file and uninstall and reinstall Outlook 2000 clean, then import your e-mail back to the account. I'd make backup copies of your archive.pst files as well to avoid them getting wiped out from a reinstall of Outlook. The .pst files can be rejoined to the clean install of Outlook 2000 after install.

Two questions:

How can I tell if I have HTML enabled?  I've looked at the help listings but could find nothing for this.

To rejoin the .pst files, do I simply need to copy them into the Outlook directory?

Try setting IE as your default browser if it is not already.

How do I do that?

I looked at XP help and they said to pick Search and then Change Preferences.  But there is no Change Preferences option in the Search window.

OK, thanks!  For some reason, that seems to work.

But I don't want IE as my default browser and Firefox used to work there.  Any idea on how I can get Firefox back online with Outlook?
