Yesterday I downloaded Libre Office from the official torrent (link on there download page) Installed it . Like Patio said, selected custom installation, unchecked toolbars etc and installed it really free of free. :P Got rid of ms office. Loving LibreOffice.

CH needs a [ LIKE ] button for statements like this...  ;D

I have done away with MS Office years ago for my systems, although I use it at work computers because I have to. And I am loving it too   :)

I don't understand why anybody would prefer either Openoffice or LibreOffice. The only thing appealing is their non-existent price tag, but you still end up paying a price. The scrollbar is busted, and if you ahve any modicum of images in the document, scrolling is as choppy as a stormy sea, With occasional hangs. Application of Styles is undefined. You apply a 24 Pt, Bold Style to a text body? Better be prepared for it to only make it 24pt, or only make it bold, contingent entirely on what is in that text body.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

For what it is worth...
MS Office is on eBay for about $100 for a student version.
Open Office is  available for 0.00 with tree shipping.
Look at this URL! No need to click on it, it says it all!

ROFL :P

That's ok though I am just as guilty for typos myself... I was typing up a response earlier and talking with a guy in the shop at work at the same time about some new parts being junk and accidently typed JUNK instead of JUMP.

In task manager, what is hogging the CPU... service or app names needed? This could be malware, but I dont want to junk to conclusions. Also what is the hardware specs or make/model computer.

It, i.e. the statements on that eBay listing, isn't worth much.  That listing is merely someone making statements to get people to buy a disc they've burned with software that anyone with an Internet connection of CD burner make.  Yes, Open Office recognizes that file types used by Microsoft Office.  Beyond that, the listing doesn't really have much credibility, IMO.  It's a cheap-looking listing by someone trying to make some money by, as previously stated, creating a disc that most computer users could create themselves.  The notice at the top of the listing reveals a dubious aspect of the listing:

Attention Ebay (Community Watch and Support Team):

This Auction Complies both in "Title" and "Description" to eBays Policy.

After Several emails back and forth I have structured this auction to be in Total compliance of their instructions and Guidelines.

If you need proof of that please email us, and we will provide their emails. Thank You Kindly in Advance.

Unfortunately Geek falls into a trap once in awhile by posting/quoting something without giving a 2nd thought as to the source...such as a CNet review...eBay Seller synopsis or others...
I've gotten used to it over time.
