Hi all,
Im praying someone here can rectify my problem. Last week i offered to remove the viruses my fathers comp had become riddled with, which i did with no problem. Once i did this i tried to go online with a penny a min dial up number but each time i got an error 777 message. I went into device manager and checked the modem and all was good,( i did notice he had no driver for the ethernet controller and sm bus controller but i believe i dont actually need this for a dial up.) I checked the phone line, cables, etc and all was ok, so completely baffled and desperate to sort it, i resorted to reformatting (after backing up files) and re installing xp, I then added the dial up, clicked on connect and....got the *censored* error 777 message again!!! Arrgh!!
I just cant think what else could cause this.
Any help will be soooo appreciated... i feel like im going crazy!!
