hi, i have been having trouble with my sound because it has not been playing in any media players. so i made sure sound software was installed...it was not there, when i looked in the task bar there was not a little speaker ether. so i tried wizard and tried to install new hardware(speakers) but when it has finished it sed c-media AC97 audio device error 10, help me some one as i need to listen to music.

Uninstall your soundcard from the device manager, restart the computer, do not allow for reinstallation and download drivers from the manufacturers webpage. Voila.

i went on to the device manager and onto the sound section and found that next to the c-media ac97 it had a yellow excomation mark, also is there a way to find out the manufacture ?

error code 10, thats it, i tried micro soft wesite but that was just telling me about something of the topic

i have noticed some software that i have not instaled and which i can not deleat called: web driver control panel and CMI audio config

CMI audio config are 100% likely drivers or configuration software for your sound card.

What the web driver control panel is, I do not know.

Have you tried to uninstall everything soundcard related and download drivers from the page I linked you to?

No, just delete the soundcard entry with the exclamanation and/or question mark and remove any sound card entries from Software.

Evidently, you want the following driver:
