It depends on your need. At my advise Joomla is half-way between a blog like Wordpress (text, journalistic site ) and Altervista Pages (more graphic). You can easily write article-text and organize some Webdesign throug the Html editor with images link videos ecc. To go further you have to spend more time like everywhere else.
