    Windows Live Messenger

Is it important to remove or disable Windows Live Messenger? This has come pre-installed on my Lenovo T420 and, in the past, when I had problems with XP systems, and asked for help here, I think I was encouraged to get rid of it.

If you aren't going to be using it, then why not at least disable it?  Letting Windows Live Messenger automatically start when you start your computer makes no sense if you don't use it.

Personally, I would probably remove Windows Live Messenger if I never intended to use it.

Removing it can be messy...dis-abling it is more than adequate.
