*************************************************
There should be 3 horizontal lines in the right hand corner of your screen. Click it.
Click Tools. Then click Extensions.
This should open in a new tab.
Look to the left side of the screen and click Settings.

If "Search Conduit" is set as the homepage when you open Chrome, under "On startup" click "Set pages" and type in www.google.ca

Under "Search", revert it back to Google as the default search engine.

If "Search Conduit" is set as the new tabs page, scroll down to "Appearance" and click "Change" beside the New Tabs button, and change it to whatever you want.

Dave I seemed to have got rid of it, I removed everything to do with goggle including my history / search's etc,  and waited overnight and then downloaded chrome again and so far so good.

Not to hijack this thread, but how did you find out about this Conduit issue? Did your antivirus report this as a virus or malware?

I am asking because my Windows XP Pro SP3 system patched to last patch all of a sudden about a week ago popped up with my AVG Free Antivirus claiming that Conduit is a 2 out of 4 (star or blip) problem. I was thinking this might be a false positive since the system runs fine, however when deleting the files, they seem to come back on their own which is odd and then flag again in the quarantine of AVG Free.

Malwarebytes shows clean ( 0 ) problems.

I have been watching your progress through this. I haven't uninstalled anything because I wasn't sure what Conduit came in on for application. But the one day I did install Chrome browser to be able to play the free version of Angry Birds which requires Chrome to be installed to play free and when you mentioned Google Chrome browser I am thinking that is where Conduit must have come in with since it was scanning prior to that period of time with no problems detected.

Hi Dave no problem, it is goggle chrome that it comes from.

No reports from my AV it just appeared, this is not the first time its happened, Malwarebytes will not find it, the only thing that can find and remove it is Adware cleaner.

but it will came back the next time you open the pc, even if you choose to download and install yourself. So far its ok.

I removed everything to do with goggle including my history / search's etc I will come back later where I got the download.

Dave I'm nearly sure it was the top link. I think when you click download it says try alternative link, that's what I clicked, but it sent me to the same place.
