Hello I have a MAC and when I turn it on it makes a noise like zzzzzzzzzzzz tac zzzzzzzzzzz tac. And then I can see my files but not open any of them. Any idea what the problem may be? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the hard drive is making this noise. Common with a crashed drive that is attempting to read a sector ( portion of the hard drive where data is stored ) and unable to read it and it retries over and over again and is like a record player that has a scratched record where the needle skips back to the prior track etc.
