Lexmark Z82 Scanner Problem
« on: July 26, 2004, 09:43:18 AM »
I have a Lexmark Z82 MFP and using XP Pro. The software for the scanner is for the most part useless, so I am trying something else.

The problem is whenever I try to scan, it gives me the error-"Port is Disabled. Ensure that port is properly connected and power is on, Then restart your computer."

Any ideas?

Marv....I think the Z82 ......was designed for either Win 95 or Win 98........I'm not sure it will work properly on Win xp pro ........have you been to Lexmarks site to see if they have a driver for win xp ?
Was it working for you on XP ?  Sounds like a driver issue .......try going to   http://members.driverguide.com/ums/index.php?action=l&furl=aHR0cDovL21lbWJlcnMuZHJpdmVyZ3VpZGUuY29tL2luZGV4LnBocD9hY3Rpb249ZG9zZWFyY2gmcW0wPVNGQTEwMHR4JnFhNT0xMiZxYTY9OTYyJmRwPTImc209YiZqbWQ9YW5k&ac=1090866144v178631

log in using .... "driver" as a username and "all" as password.

If you cant find one there use request a driver feature and see if you get a response.

    Good luck

If you don't know the answer, it isn't a dumb question.
