    I can't turn on windows update even I logged in as the admin
    Important updates on the widows setting is grayed.
    I have attached a pic.
    my OS is windows 8.1
    give me a solution

    Your not system admin... Logon as system admin and run updates.

      you  have to be logged on as the system administrator, important updates wont be grayed out....

        Is this by any chance a work PC?  You'll see this message when Windows Update settings are governed by Group Policy, even if you log in as a local admin.
