Installing new OS after being caught for pirating
« on: November 16, 2005, 04:29:19 PM »
I had a pirated version of windows on my computer, and windows found out. So they screwed over my computer and I cannot run that version of windows anymore.

Well I've moved past my pirating days and now I have a legit copy of windows, but I can't install it because it still brings me to the pirated version of windows and yells at me for being a pirater.

Can anyone help me out??

Phillip......Well if you have a new legal Window O/S .......The solution is simple format the hard drive and reinstall the new operating system on a clean hard drive .........You will loose all data .....unless you have it backed up on cds .
What is the exact issue .......is it the serial key has been blacklisted or is the issue one of activation ?

From boodisk use option 2 start Windows without CD rom support

On the command Prompt type C:/
      then you should see
      C:/>

      use
C:/>FORMAT C: /s This should erase and partion your hard drive to FAT32

Hope it was what you are looking for.
      Or you can try

        How did 'windows' find out?
How did you find out that Windows found out?
W2k has no checks on it, neither has W98.
You have been screwed by something else.
Run the scans or do a fresh install.

Windows found out because i sent an error report. The computer went crazy, shut down, and has not worked since.

Was it formatted as NTFS or FAT32? If the former you will have to delete the partition and format prior to reinstall.

I want to hear more about "Windows found out". What was the error message?
