PC # 3 should still have the authentication sticker on the back/bottom of the laptop...
If not Call MS as suggested.

    I entered the product key on the official sticker on the back when I reinstalled. Now Microsoft has rejected it - after dozens of automatic updates as well. Guess I will be phoning them.

      I reentered the product key this morning and it successfully activated windows. Myst have mistyped.

      Microsoft Windows activation servers have been slow since 7/29/15.
