    For most websites I'd just stick with Google Analytics - Well supported, free and has enough expansion potential to allow you to track reasonable amounts of custom stuff.  It can also cope with very high traffic and is well supported by other external tools.

    Have you looked at the analytics provided by your hosting service?   They might provide all the info you need.
