Safe Mode with Network problem

I want to be able to boot in Safe Mode with Networking but when I try I am told that I cannot have Networking in Safe Mode and must log out if I want to connect to the internet. How do I deal with this.

A further point, I need things to be simple. Has booting into Safe Mode with F8 been restored yet? If so, what way to switch it on?

More info needed.... why is networking important at the safe mode level where safe mode is generally used to fix a local problem without networking needed? Trying to fully understand your problem and need more info as to why your having to use safe mode and why networking is required while in this mode?

Thanks for the response. I want to be able to get into Safe Mode with Networking in order to be prepared for the following: I may need to access the Web while trying to fix a problem, in order to get help at the same time, possibly from this forum. I do not remember things very well and do not find looking things up followed by trying to act on advice later very effective.

I cannot get Safe Mode with Network to work in the normal way, though I know it can be done because I have done it once following concurrent instructions on the phone.  But I do not remember the procedure.
