Lexmark printer will not shut down

using win Xp home  ,with a Lexmark 1100 printer which will print but does not complete .After printing , it stops at 99% and does not shut off. therefore I cannot uninstall so that I may reinstall. any ideas ? Thanks.

unplug it and remove it from the device manager and all the software..then re-install software and plug -it back in..

I have been away for three days , I unplugged both
computer and printer before leaving , came back,
plugged everything back in again and everything works
as it should .        Piney_2003
