I frequently get below message as a popup from the right side of my task bar. Do not know what  it means.  Thank you.  Anna Ruth

file history reconnect your drive.  Your files will be temporarily copied to your hard drive until you reconnect your file history drive and run a backup.

Could we get more information about that computer? What OS are you running? Is there anything in the disk drives or USB slots?

Ok, that's an external drive. Do you always have it plugged in? Do you receive the error when it is not plugged in?

yes, it is always plugged in as I save a lot to the drive F.    I had to do a windows reset last night.     I will unplug that for a while and see what happens.  Thank you,  Anna Ruth

No, I reinstalled Windows where the files are restored.  Anyway, I still get that message.

The problem appears to be with the external hard drive. What make is it?

This issue might occur if some system files are not working properly.

Plug in the device and run the hardware troubleshooter. Once this is done, restart the computer and check the status.

Follow these steps:
- Press the ‘Windows + W’ key on the keyboard.
- Type troubleshooting in the search box and then press enter.
- Click hardware and sound and run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter.
- Follow the On screen instructions. Once this is done, restart the computer and check the status.

I did some research on Rocket Fish and this product seems to be only related to external speakers. Is that what it is?

Had to take computer to repair shop where it was for five days till I could get it out.    Now have Windows 8.1   and so far have not gotten that message.

Follow these steps:
- Press the ‘Windows + W’ key on the keyboard.
- Type troubleshooting in the search box and then press enter.

Thanks much for your help.
