    Problems with PC
    « on: September 24, 2016, 10:21:51 AM »
First off thank you for taking the time to read this!

I built a PC about a year ago.  Works great! But from time to time it decides to not display anything and make me open it up and disconnect everything and reinstall each component one at a time... This time I'm not seeing any POST codes to help me.  So I'm reaching out to you!  Here are my specs

    Msi gaming 7 z97
    I7 4790
    16gb (8x2)corsair vengeance/8gb (4x2) fury hyper x
    Nvidia Evga gtx 960
    Pny 240gb SSD
    Seagate 3tb hdd
    LG Blu-ray/DVD rw
    LG DVD rw
    TP Link (wireless network card)
    ROSEWILL Bronze 1000W PSU

    Currently everything is out except:
    8gb corsair
    Ssd
    Psu
    Cpu

Using on board (hdmi) graphics.. Not getting anything displayed

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Still not booting at minimal boot then you would want to try RAM stick in different slot, and then swap out power supply as next cause. You should get a POST without the SSD connected.

i've dropped down to one stick... i'm in DIMM1 slot (i think that's the correct slot for one stick)

      still no display. :(

Try a single RAM stick in a different slot. If it still doesnt boot try a different RAM stick. If still no boot then reset the CMOS BIOS back to default. If still no boot swap out the power supply. If still no boot then you might be looking at a motherboard failure.

Were you overclocking at all prior to this?

used jumper to reset CMOS while PC is unplugged
changed to one 4gb ram stick
        also changed slots
also changed HDMI cable and HDMI slot
        nothing :( :'(

note: i feel like my keyboard is taunting me.. its back light is rolling over all the letters... unresponsive to CAPS Lock..

You cannot use HDMI until it's setup properly in Control Panel...use a VGA connection to do so.

Another guess would be your motherboard, replacing that could be a last resort

Might as well exhaust every single option to see what's going wrong.
