Windows 98 sizing problem
« on: December 03, 2005, 02:46:35 PM »
I'm running win 98 on this old computer I picked up. For some reason, the pictures are oversized and really messed up. They appear very broken and pixelated. I was wondering if I could do a system restore. The problem began this morning. When I tried installing my modem the screen said "click next", but the button was off the screen and I couldn't reach it. So, if anyone knows how to fix this or do a system restore/ restore default settings, please respond. Thank you.

Sounds like you (or something) has changed the screen resoultion. Right click a blank area on the screen and select properties. In the dialog box select the settings tab. Increase the the screen resolution and click apply. If you increase it to a resolution that can't be used on your machine, you will see a screwed up screen or a blank screen. If this happens, press escape key and try a different setting. I suggest starting at 1024x768. If it works, leave it.
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.

You might have to re-install your video drivers too. Is the monitor properly connected?
