    what do you do if it asks for password or username?

    You have to get a username and password.

      Exactly, just ask for the wifi password wherever you are, e.g. in a cafe.

        Public wifis are very unsafe networks. It contains hackers, snoopers and viruses. If you are gonna use it, I would suggest taking precautionary measures to secure yourselves. Here is a link to a good article with helpful tips to protect yourself.
