If I create a Windows 10 recovery USB on a particular computer can it be used on other Windows 10 computers? Is it particular to a given machine? Is it particular to a given manufacturer? For example, can a Windows 10 recovery USB created on a Dell machine be used on another Dell machine but not an Acer machine? Thanks for your help.

How to: perform a repair upgrade using the Windows 10 ISO file
    Quote
If your Windows 10 installation is demonstrating unusual behavior such as built in apps not working or launching, you can perform a repair upgrade to fix the problem. A repair upgrade is the process of installing Windows 10 over the existing installation of Windows 10 on your hard disk, using your installation DVD or ISO file. Performing this can repair broken operating system files while preserving your personal files, settings and installed application

After some quick research, I can not find a specific answer to your question. however, there is an issue with trying to repair a PC that has some unusual hardware features.  It has to do with the BIOS.
You may have to go to the Dell forum and put your question there.

That is a link for Windows 10 specific issues.  :)

There is no specific answer...it'll either work...or it won't ...
Chances are if it's created on an OEM PC such as an Acer HP etc...it'll likely not...

On that note i'm curious why you need this...if you are looking for a tool to use on multiple PC's just create a bootable Win10 USB stik...then read up on all you can for procedures for doing a Repair Install of the OS...

Just to satisfy your curiosity ... I have 2 Dell laptops running Windows 10. One of them is ailing just a bit but the other is running OK as of this writing. i wanted to know if I could create media on the healthy machine that could be used to get the ailing one bck up to snuff if need be. From what I've seen elsewhere, it looks like creating a bootable Win 10 USB stick is the way to go.
