Mouse and keyboard lock up sporadically

Happens at timely intervals.

I can't add more details immediately as I don't want my keyboard to lock up as I type (which, funnily enough, happened last time as my cursor motioned towards the "Submit" button).

You're using a dell system?? You likely need to modify a driver file or insert a correct one.  You can also try replacing the inf file from a computer that has the same OS, and use the .inf code for the device ID. You need to be running a basic keyboard and mouse, which you seem to be.

This will take you in the right direction if you know what driver you need, or should have.
