Hard drive problem

I posted earlier about a startup problem and i think I figured out what the problem was. I think there is something wrong with my hard drive because when i unplug the hard drive from the motherboard and start up the computer the same thing happens. Is it possible that this is caused by a virus? Or is the hard drive just fried? There wasn't a power surge or anything it just stopped working when I tried to restart.

YOu are the only one using this computer and you made no changes to it, it just stopped working?
Try that hard drive in another machine. You'll know soon enough.
