CD-ROM drive
« on: December 09, 2005, 07:59:21 PM »
I am having a problem with my CD-ROM drive. It just won't function. This has happened before but it seemed like it just fixed itself. Last time I used it was about week or two ago and it worked fine.  But I tried to use it recently it wouldn't open with me having to manually open it and even when I do put a CD in and close it, it doesn't read the CD or do anything.  Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

1st of, a few basic things you've probably already done.
Check the cables are firmly connected from/to P/S - motherboard - CD-ROM.

Try using a CD-Cleanup to clean the eyeled of your CD-ROM.

Try updating the F/W of your CD-ROM to the latest.

even if the above will help, it wont fix your Cd-ROM's other problems..  like opening and closing.. thats a physical problem.
