lenovo yoga 510 works really slow even after reinstall

Hi there,

So suddenly one day, my current laptop - lenovo yoga 510 (4gb ram, i3 processor, 125 gb ssd) started to work really slow. So I did fresh windows install, but the problem still persists the same. What could be the problem? I have done clean with the ccleaner, check task manager nothing suspicious. Any ideas?

I'd check the health of that SSD with a tool like CrystalDiskInfo.  I had a SSD suddenly act sluggish and then it died on me.

I'd check the temperature of the Core i3 processor with SpeedFan to see if the system is running slower because the CPU is running too hot and is thermal throttling itself to stay alive where the CPU slows itself to avoid melt down.

First of all, I do not pretend to understand how solid state drive  works.
But that program says the thing is good.

That all looks good for SSD Health and Temperature, at least the SSD is reporting healthy so it should be...

Is the laptop slow all the time or just specific stuff run on it? More info helpful.

Have you run any virus scans on this system?

If its just video choppy, I'd make sure that the video driver is up to date from Intel. Windows 10 has been known to kick out drivers and replace them and a generic graphics driver could make for a lesser performance with video and games.

I guess it's slow when I am using chrome. In past, I didn't have this problem. I will try Firefox to see if the problem still persists.  I have done a fresh windows installation, so no viruses (including check with Malwarebytes and defender). Let's say even if I open a folder it takes a longer time to open (same speed as if there would be simple HDD).

Did you remember to re-install ALL Lenovo drivers for Win10 ? ?

I guess I didn't, as I thought windows 10 did that automatically.

Now I am lost, actually I can't remember if I did install or not, is there a way  how to check?

No Windows version does it automatically...it loads generic drivers...

DLoad them from the Lenovo site and re-install all of them.
Chipset drivers 1st...then re-boot...then all others.

I installed all drivers but it still was the same. Then I went on power option and clicked on 'high performance' now even processing go pro video, my small laptop works really fast. Would be that a case or just a luck (windows stopped installing updates)?
