    Beta 2...
The full blown release has been pushed back again. Oct next year is hopeful at best.

Well there was supposed to be a brand new file system...that's not gonna make the final release. There's lot's more eye candy for those that like that kinda thing...better security...and i'm sure it will want more and more control over what you think you want to do with your own machine.
As a side note it comes in 7 different flavors so look for any Forums you visit to have more and more sub-forums.

    i can't wait    ???

P.S. I forgot to mention it will probably be the first 25G. OS in history after they're done with all the patches etc.

No, sounds typical. I will also be avoiding that one. This will be the release that Microsoft will really lock you into their O/S and software. Wait and see.

There might be ramifications hardware-wise as well...even the lowball requirements i've seen would mean a new machine/upgrade for most of us peasants.

But the good thing is you don't need to upgrade to use all of the applications you are now using. It's just if you want to stay on that hardware/software upgrade carousel. Outside of the digital "glitz" and gaming, there is no compelling reason to upgrade that I can see, and both of those are optional, thank goodness.

I went to my local car dealer (Bill) this morning to ask about the latest models coming out soon.

He told me that the latest is available now, but it won't start up.  He said that if I were willing to buy it, he would guarantee that sooner or later it would run, but I would need a new engine, electrical system and other minor things.  He said that once a few thousand other folks bought the car, they would provide fixes for all these problems.  He called them "Service Packs."

He also told me it wouldn't fit on some roads, was too slow for some highways and the audio system would only play music they created themselves.

He further told me the car no longer ships with tires or brakes installed, but if I ever needed them, they would be in the trunk.

He also warned me that I should have a valid license or else the car would automatically shut down at random times for my own security and safety.

But, he advised me that it was a great car.  That it was bigger, more colorful and had a lot more features than other cars that also didn't run properly.

He did say it would be a little more expensive, since it took a lot more salesmen to market these things under current conditions.  Fortunately they saved some money by using fewer engineers and designers.

Needless to say, I bought one right away, and am the proud owner of the latest model.  Hopefully I can find a Forum on the net to help get it running.

The version for England Ireland and Scotland as well as the rest of the E.U. will have sheep...
The North American version will have cattle, pigs, horses and an occasional mountain goat...
South American version also has cattle but mostly oil wells and depleted rainforests...
Details on the Far East and Aussie versions have yet to be released...
