I have removed and added paint and I still get this error.
Please tell me I don't have to reinstall windows. If I do have to reinstall is there a shortcut to uninstall/install directions. Thanx for any help

Run memTest86 on your RAM overnight to look for errors causing data corruption. Then run the drive manufacturer's drive diagnostic diskette to look for drive faults.

Now run - chkdsk /r - and then run defrag.

For XP Home or Professional try the evaluation copy of Diskeeper 10 Professional and use Frag-Shield to see if your MFTs need re-sizing.

You may also have a program called Xupiter on your system which can cause this. Use SpyBot SD to remove it.
