kurplegirl.....Do you have any idea what the serious error is or (was) .......
First of all ...do you have all the latest win Xp updates ?
Then you might try going into the control panel...and click on Administrative Tools .......then click on Event viewer ....... have a look at the Application log , Security log and the System log .......one or more of those logs should indicate what the error was and when it occurred .
Let us know what they said .
Normally when that message appears ....you should click on don't send ( unless you wish to send the report to MS ) reboot your machine and it should be gone ......What were you doing just prior to the message appearing ?

Do you mean that you recently installed XP and that you have been having connection issues since then ?
When you look in the device manager is your network adapter being seen ok ?
Does you laptop detect any wireless signal at all ?
Have you tried using the wizard to create a new connection ?
Does your issue apply to all locations or just one specific one ?

yes the wireless adapter says its connected. andlaptop does show wireless signal.the errors came up before i installed the wireless card, i dont know how to check the ram on this laptop. and the fan well im not sure but it seems like the laptop stops running but its like a fan stops but i can still do things on the laptop but that has always been that way even before i upgraded to win xpand i used to be able to get on the internet by useing usb from my cable modem but now i cant even do that,it picks it up but when i go to internet explorer still same thing as the wireless card does
