Reinstall game.  If that doesn't work look for new drivers for your vid card.  Good luck, it's worth the effort.

Also try closing any unnecessary programs running while you play, such as AIM, etc.

Have you checked EA Games for game patches? Also try contacting the EA Games Support team. They supposedly have the best support around as far as gaming goes.

I was actually talking about which part, but here it is anyway.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Windows XP (32-bit) with Admin rights
1.7 GHz Intel Celeron D / Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon XP/ Sempron or greater
512 MB of RAM or more
8x or faster CD/DVD drive
2.3 GB free hard drive space or more
DirectX 9.0c compatible (see video)
DirectX 9.0c compatible
VIDEO
Video card must have 128 MB or more memory and one of the following chipsets:
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 or greater
ATI Radeon 8500 or greater

Looks like all requirements are met to me? (Might be a little slow, but it's met)

I have 2 gigs of ram, everyone else I game with has upgraded to 2 gigs or are upgrading to 2 gigs. This is a very demanding game. 512 aint gonna gittit, no matter what EA says.

I suggest a total lockup would be caused by something other than being on the low end of the hardware scale.
Are we getting side tracked here?
