Where did Aldus Type Twister go to?

As you can see, I have a very old copy of Aldus Type Twister. It appears that I last installed it back in 2005. It is not free ware,I think I got it when it was on floppy disk. I was just now looking to see i fit was updated. Guess not.

So, does anybody here know what ever happened?
I found a copy of it, but it will not install properly.  So I can not recommend it to others, I forgot how to install it. 

Does anybody know know anything about this?

Aldus Type Twister was discontinued in 1993 with only one release (1.0). Aldus merged with Adobe in 1994. Adobe made it available as freeware for a short time, but stopped doing so as the software became more outdated.

MS WordArt provides most of the same capabilities.

Well, it is not quite the same. Aldus TT was wild and offered a variety far more  what you get in MS word. And the program was very compact and would load inconstantly, so you can leave it open and save a bunch of banners and logos to you favorite phjoto editor. You click on copy in TT and then paste it into paint and save it as a BMP of GIF and use it later in a project tht needs a little life.

It loads instantly because it's only release is over two decades old and therefore was built within the hardware capabilities of the time. Pretty much any software from that time period is probably going to run more or less "instantly" on anything newer than a 486.

Aldus TT has nowhere near the capabilities of WordArt. That's one of the reasons it was discontinued- It had no niche in which to exist once MSDraw was integrated into Word 7. Even Word 97 has a wider feature set. (Word 97, I might add, loads instantly too on a semi-modern system)

You can save word art as images by copying it and then pasting it into paint, too. Here's one I threw together:

Very nice art work.
There other programs that have similar, but lesser features.
For example, you can do font things in  the old  of Word Perfect.

Also, some kind of thing is found in Libre Office, but I don't have an example at hand. But anybody can Google it and find it out there.

I do have a very old copy of MS word. Han not tried using it.

Still, I kind of like that old Aldus program. i was,IMO, ahead of its time.
