Copy and paste

When I highlite a web page, I can only post the text. The images don't show up, as in, text only. How can I get both to show up? The print/screen key is ok as far as it goes, it will copy what is on the screen but won't scroll.

Which browser are you using?
Here is are general rules.
Copy and paste will  copy simple text in most cases.
To copy an image you  have to specify that you want to copy an image.

If you wish to copy all the content of a web page, you need to save it as a web page and provide a new folder for it.

Does that help any?

I have windows 10
So I can right click on the page and hit ,select all, then copy, when I paste, it will show pictures and text?

Yes...it'll show as the full webpage

I believe we have a disparity in replies 2, 3, & 4.  Patio referred to the technique for saving a web page.  And then, jdl refers to copy and paste.  So, jdl is still thinking copy and paste, not saving the web page in manner suggested by patio.   Or, am I mis-understanding the flow of thought?

What is actually pasted depends on what is supported by where you are pasting.

if you Select everything on a web page and copy it, you can paste it to say Microsoft Word and it will paste images and other elements. If you paste into say a forum textbox, or a text editor, or perhaps another program that doesn't support it, it will use the "text" information that you copied instead.

Yes, I understand that, although the target document may not look the same as the source web page.  In other words, all the content (text, images, etc.) may get carried over the target document but lose much of the layout in the source web page.  At least, that's what I encounter if I copy to WPS Writer, a freeware word processor similar Word.

But, in my previous post, I was raising a point about an apparent lack of precise communication between the posts I mentioned.   Copy and Paste is not equal to using the Save Page As option, which I presumed was what patio meant.   Note: I'm using Firefox.
