Personally, I prefer the Trackpoint to the Touchpad. Also, I prefer my laptop to look like a laptop. The selection for laptops has largely started shifting over to "Gaming" and fact is I don't want a laptop that looks like it could be a failed design for the next Starship Enterprise.
There are some other "workstation" lines which are similar in their disregard for designing laptops like they are being built at Utopia Planetia, but the Thinkpad is the only one that has the Trackpoint.
