Hope everything is OK now. You can make a backup in case something went wrong. Usually it happens because of profile issues. For instance, If you were using a default account and created a new one by accident, the browser may show you default panel. That's how you can check it.
1/Click the menu button.
2/Click Help and select Troubleshooting Information. The Troubleshooting Information tab will open.
3/Under the Application Basics section, click on Open Folder. Your profile folder will open.
4/If there is only one profile folder, then stop.
5/If you have more than one profile folder, then it is likely a new profile.
And you'll need to switch back, by using Firefox Profile Manager and choosing the correct profile.
