Windows Store Apps Removal
« on: January 31, 2019, 07:48:10 PM »
Discovered Skype was running on my clean build of Windows 10 when poking around in Task Manager.

Tried to locate it to uninstall it and its nowhere to be found from any safe uninstall locations.

I found its contents in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\   ( BUT by default you dont have access to the contents... so I had to force ownership to look at the contents within this folder and then there Skype was, BUT I didnt want to just delete the files because they had a service that is hidden that Windows calls to at boot and didnt want to cause problems with a service being called that no longer exists mess. )

Looking online I found this here:
https://superuser.com/questions/533170/how-to-fully-uninstall-a-windows-store-app

And someone suggested using a free tool called GeekUninstaller which did the trick.

Sharing this here in case others want to remove Windows Store App junk from their Windows 10 builds.

*Note: When Skype was selected from the list, it started removal. It then displayed as seen in 2nd pic that some registry key fixes needed to be done. I clicked finish and then it removed the key entries and after reboot the computer is still running with no problems and skype is gone now.  ;D
